Where to Find Tofu: Firm tofu is readily available in supermarkets, but for a broader assortment, the local Asian grocery store (toko) is your go-to. There, you'll find fresh tofu, fried delights, and the silky smooth silken tofu.

Playful Uses of Silken Tofu: Silken tofu is like a culinary magic wand! Create flavorful sauces, indulge in chocolate pudding, or incorporate it into savory dishes like curries and stir-fries.

Vegan French Toast Recipe: Ingredients:

  • 175 grams silken tofu

  • 120 ml plant-based milk

  • 1 tablespoon oil or vegan butter

  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast

  • 1/2 teaspoon Kala Namak (for an 'eggy' flavor)

  • Pinch of salt

  • 4-6 slices of medium-cut bread

Optional:

  • Cinnamon

  • Maple syrup, syrup, jam, or powdered sugar

  • Fresh fruit

  • Plant-based yogurt

  • Chocolate

  • Vegan bacon for a savory twist

Instructions:

  1. Blend all ingredients, except the bread, into a smooth mixture.

  2. Heat oil or butter in a frying pan.

  3. Dip each bread slice into the batter and fry until golden brown.

  4. Repeat until all the bread is cooked.
